Police suspect that the motive behind the incident could either be a property dispute or a personal enmity.

The property dealer, Deepak, is a resident of Kadirpur village near Alipur. He deals in real estate at his office in Alipur. On Wednesday night, a police officer said, Deepak was heading towards home from his office in his car when the incident took place.

“On the way, Deepak’s car was intercepted by his cousin and his friend who were on a motorcycle. As soon as Deepak stopped his vehicle, the duo fired two bullets at him. One of the bullets hit his chest while the other one got lodged in his leg. The attackers fled the spot on their motorcycle leaving him to die,” said a police officer.
