Speaking on the role of water and sewerage services in the growth of a city at a stakeholders meet organised by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) for Delhi Sewerage Masterplan (SMP) 2031, Tripathi said, “Delhi Geospatial Mapping project could prove valuable in assisting the making of the SMP 2031.”

The DJB meet was held to share the approach and methodology with the stakeholders. DJB CEO Ramesh Negi emphasised the need of a holistic and sustainable sewerage masterplan. M/s AECOM and M/s WAPCOS have been appointed as consultants for the SMP’s preparation.

Alex Kwan, AECOM’s executive VP said identification of unsewered areas, integrating them with the existing sewerage system, designing of techno-economical and feasible schemes and land availability are some of the challenges while preparing the SMP 2031.
