Doctors check Anna's health as fast enters 10th day

Activist Anna Hazare's deteriorating health has doctors treating him worried as his fast for a strong anti-corruption bill entered the tenth day today.

Activist Anna Hazare's deteriorating health has doctors treating him worried as his fast for a strong anti-corruption bill entered the tenth day Thursday.

"We already recommended Hazare to get admitted in a hospital yesterday (Wednesday), but he refused. We are yet to check the blood samples," a doctor treating Hazare told IANS.

Till Tuesday, the activist had lost 5.5 kg.

Hazare, 74, has refused to be administered glucose drip.

He has been asked to drink a lot of water and told not to take any strain.

Hazare has been on fast since Aug 16, the day he was arrested and taken to Tihar Jail. He was released the same day, but he refused to leave. He shifted to Ramlila ground here on August 19 where he has been continuing with his fast.
