"I have been counting the days. Since I study in the North Campus, I have to change two buses and then take a Metro. I will be among the first and the heaviest users of this line," says Aarti Minocha, a student of Daulat Ram College .

Many firms in Gurgaon have also decided to stop their cab services to Delhi after the Metro starts. "A lot of companies have decided to stop the cab services and will now be starting a shuttle service to the Sikandarpur Metro Station," said Subhinder Khurana, president, Cyber City Society.

"I have to depend on my husband to drive me to Delhi. With the Metro, I will be able to go to there on my own," said Tora Roy Choudhary, who lives in Greenhood City, Gurgaon.

Traders of popular markets such as Khan Market and Connaught Place are also awaiting the Metro eagerly. "There is a huge market in Gurgaon. With the Metro, we feel many more people will come to this side," said Atul Kochhar, a shop owner at Janpath.
