The notices were served on mining magnates — Tourism Minister G Janardhana Reddy, his younger brother Revenue Minister G Karunakara Reddy — and their close associate Health Minister B Sreeramulu, the commission sources said.
The EC action comes after Karnataka Governor HR Bhardwaj forwarded a petition filed by Congress leader, KC Kondaiah, against the three ministers on June 3.
The petition sought their disqualification, citing a conflict of interest, since all three allegedly have mining interests in the state, and as ministers they influence the government decisions.
The ministers have to reply to the notice by July 15.
