‘Expose Cong’s anti-people policies’

BSP chief Mayawati on Wednesday directed party leaders to expose the UPA government’s anti-people policies before the people. The party has planned to organise a dharna at district headquarters on May 31 in protest against the hike in the prices of petroleum products.

A meeting of the ministers, BSP MLAs, MPs and coordinators was held under the chairmanship of the UP chief minister at her official residence to discuss the strategy of the agitation.
Mayawati said it was the responsibility of all the leaders and workers of the party to visit the villages and inform the people over the adverse impact the petroleum product price hike was going to make on their livelihood. It clearly indicates that Congress was insensitive toward the plight of the people.
“The Congress was voted to power in 2009 Lok Sabha election with the slogan that the hand (symbol) was with common people. The price hike and anti-people policies of the UPA government clearly shows the Congress cared for the capitalists rather than the poor masses”, she said.
