The CNG prices have been increased once again by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the company that distributes Compressed Natural Gas in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida. With the increase of Rs 1.75 in the prices of CNG per kilogram, CNG will now cost Rs 33.75 per kg in Delhi. In Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, the prices have been increased by Rs 2.

“We have been forced to increase the retail price of CNG due to major increase in the input cost of entire pool of natural gas being sourced by us as a result of recent appreciation of dollar vis-à-vis rupee,” M Ravindran, MD, IGL said.

Ravindran claimed that that this increase would have minor impact on the per km running cost of vehicles. In September also the CNG prices were increased by Rs 2 in the capital.
