A father-son duo was robbed of Rs 80 lakh in Rohini area of outer Delhi on Thursday night. The accused also took their car that was later found charred a few kilometres away from the crime spot.

Ram Kumar Goyal and his son Kuldeep Goyal were returning home when they were intercepted. Four men on a motorcycle stopped them and asked them to part with the bag containing cash. One of them opened fire and broke the windshield. Once they gave them the bag, the robbers asked them to get out of the Toyota car.

"Two robbers got in the car and drove towards Buddh Vihar area. The father-son duo were left stranded on the road," said a senior police officer.

After the robbers left, one of them called the police. Police teams were pressed into action and they found the car a few kilometres away in a charred state.

The victims told the police that several property related documents were in the car.

"They were carrying Rs 80 lakh and were on their way to deliver the money after striking a deal," said a police officer.

After snatching the bag, the robbers fired in the air to scare people from stopping them. The car was located two hours later in Mongolpuri.
