According to the police, Devendra Singh Rawat, Pradeep Srivastva, Kamal Kanojia and Bobby — all residents of Ganesh Nagar in East Delhi — were on their way to Noida around 11.30 pm. The four were between 25-31 years of age.

Police have fished out three bodies. A search is on for Kanojia’s body. “When we started the rescue operation late at night, the water level at the regulator was high,” said DCP (East) Ajay Chaudhary.

The car belonged to Rawat. The four are reported to have been friends. Rawat worked in a hotel in France. Srivastava was with Nippon, Bobby worked for Maruti and Kanojia was a photographer.

The police suspect the driver was speeding, and lost control while negotiating the curve on the road.
