Four kids injured in LPG cylinder blast

Four children were injured when an LPG cylinder exploded in a house in Sector 24, Rohini, on Tuesday. Five adjoining houses, too, were damaged due to the blast, police said. HT reports.

Four children were injured when an LPG cylinder exploded in a house in Sector 24, Rohini, on Tuesday. Five adjoining houses, too, were damaged due to the blast, police said.

The injured children have been identified as Belu, 4, Jayanti, 14, Dipak, 13, and Rahul, 10. "Belu's condition is critical," said a police officer on condition of anonymity. The children have been admitted to the Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital.

He added, "The explosion took place around 11am at house No. 149, Sector 24 in Rohini."

A rescue team, comprising officials from the fire department and Delhi Police, was sent to the spot after a PCR call was made.

The fire department is yet to establish the cause of blast.

The house, where the explosion took place took, belongs to a labourer named Krishna Murari. Murari and his wife were not present in the house when the blast took place in which their daughter Jayanti sustained injuries.
