Gadkari's political advisor Vinay Sahashrabuddhe told PTI that the meeting of tribal affairs ministers from Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka will be held at the party headquarters on February 2.
NDA-ruled states like Jharkhand and Bihar may also participate.
Gadkari has minced no words in stating that he aims to win over more and more voters from among the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Castes.
"He is keen on reaching out to the tribal voters," Sahasrabuddhe said.
Gadkari had said his plan is to increase BJP votebank by 10 per cent to defeat its archrival Congress.
RSS leaders, including representatives from Vanvasi Kalyan Ashrams and Ekal Vidhyalayas which are engaged in social and educational work among tribals in far-flung areas, will also participate in the programme.
BJP's Adivasi Morcha National President Ananta Naik and the Orissa state unit president and one of the prominent ST ministers in the NDA government, Jual Oram, will also participate.
