Games balloon lands in Delhi

The much-hyped helium balloon, to be used for the opening and closing ceremony of the Games, has finally arrived and has been kept at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. HT reports.

The much-hyped helium balloon, to be used for the opening and closing ceremony of the Games, has finally arrived and has been kept at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

"The balloon will be set up two days before the event. It will be used for the closing ceremony too," said Lalit Bhanot, spokesman of Organising Committee (OC) of CWG.

A whopping R 40 crore has been spent by the OC on this helium balloon. According to sources, the gas for the balloon has also been imported. It will have lights and cameras mounted on it.
