Girl hurt in celebratory firing

A 10-year-old girl suffered bullet injuries during celebratory firing at a reception party in Dwarka Sector 7 on Monday night, police said. The victim Riya had gone to the party with her father.

A 10-year-old girl suffered bullet injuries during celebratory firing at a reception party in Dwarka Sector 7 on Monday night, police said. The victim Riya had gone to the party with her father.

The accused identified as Jag Bhan (48), a security guard, has been arrested. His double-barrel licensed rifle has also been seized.

"Eyewitnesses said Bhan was firing in the air when one of the bullets stuck inside the barrel. When he lowered the gun's barrel to check the fault, the bullet that had stuck inside got shot accidentally."

A case has been registered against Bhan, the officer added.
