'Give back jobs or we’ll jump'

Two former staffers of the Hardayal Municipal Library climbed a 50-m tall electric tower in Chandni Chowk on Wednesday and threatened to commit suicide if they were not re-instated.

Kapil Sharma and Ajit Singh’s services were terminated according to HC directions.

Both climbed the tower around 12.30 pm and had not come down till the filing of this report. According to eyewitnesses, skylifts were deployed to get them off but when the duo threatened to jump, they left.

"Ab chad hi gaye ho toh woh streetlight bhi theekh kar do (Now you have climbed you might as well fix the streetlight) said a group of locals who had gathered at the spot.
