About the reason for Punihani taking the extreme step, the family said he was a victim of depression and was disturbed for past couple of months.
Claiming that his brother had not suffered losses in his business, Punihani's younger brother Trilok Singh said, "Our company is not running into losses and my brother was not at all under debt. In fact, we are one of the emerging companies in India that manufactures and export leather goods."
Singh added that Punihani was suffering from depression for past six months and he was also undergoing treatment for the same.
"The only problem with my brother was that he was not taking medicines prescribed by the doctor, as he feared that it would make him addicted to medicines. The doctor had recently increased his medicine dosage but he was not taking it," added the brother.
