Speaking at the inauguration of Saket District Courts complex on Saturday, Kapadia said for the past 20 years judges in the Indian judiciary have been working in pathetic conditions.

“Only good infrastructure from courtrooms to court complex could give speedy justice,” said Kapadia.

He said a court complex like Saket with all facilities for litigants, lawyers and judges would enable judiciary to deliver judgement in time.

“My dream is fulfilled,” he said, as he spoke about his special drive to create better courtrooms across the country. Emphasising on the equality in judiciary, Kapadia said that for him all the judges from district court to Supreme Court are equal and no compromise should be made in giving better working conditions.

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit doled out a series of facilities for litigants and lawyers visiting the courtroom. “We would start special bus service from Patiala House Courts to Saket. A library with all modern facilities would be made available for lawyers,” said Dikshit.

Kapadia along with Dikshit personally examined the courtrooms of the new court complex. Kapadia said that that judicial system is very slow but court like Saket would change the course of our judicial history.

The court complex inauguration was attended by the Delhi High court judges and several judges from all the district courts in the city.
