Government is having a relook at a bill which seeks to provide more teeth to both the Centre and states to prevent and control communal violence.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy told reporters that the government wanted to give "another thought" to the Bill following reservations by some NGOs.
"It is being looked into," he merely said when asked about the fate of the Communal Violence (Prevention, Control and Rehabilitation of Victims) Bill which has already been passed by the Union Cabinet.
In her address to the joint sitting of Parliament, President Pratibha Patil had said that her government would seek early approval of the Bill introduced in Parliament.
