Minister of social welfare, women and child development Kiran Walia said a massive anti-trafficking campaign will be launched soon. Walia added that there was a need to keep a strict vigil on the placement agencies functioning in the city.

"There is an emergent need to form a comprehensive state policy to combat trafficking of women and children in an effective manner, apart from developing a programme to bring synergy between departments to support victims of the trafficking," said Walia.
