In order to get any lead Delhi Police have searched various guesthouses in the city and have also questioned many local criminals. A team of special cell has also approached shop owners who sell batteries and chemical powder to know the details of recent sale. On Thursday, police maintained that the bomb was triggered by some new group to create panic and damage.

"We are waiting for forensic team reports who have collected the evidence from the spot," said a senior police officer requesting anonymity.

Local vendors have also been questioned in order to ascertain the identity of person who had planted the bomb.

"Although the exact contents of the bomb will be determined after the forensic report is obtained, the iron nails, which were fitted into the loosely assembled bomb were rusted, indicating that the bomb was prepared weeks before being planted. Also, it looked like a handiwork of newly formed group since the groups like Indian Mujahiddeen and Lashkar-e-Taiba are well aware of how to make bomb," the officer added.

Sources also said that a timer device was used to trigger the blast which was destroyed in the blaze.

Despite questioning various suspects and scanning details of sleeper cells, the police are clueless about the motive of the blast. A special cell team is also in touch with there counterparts in Jharkhand, Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh to follow up on the leads on blasts previously reported from the city.
