Ending a two-day conclave, CMs of BJP-ruled states pledged to improve governance, curb corruption and bring more accountability to outshine the Congress governments.

Senior BJP leader LK Advani came out with a mantra of ‘probity and security’ to drive home to leaders that they must project the BJP as a party of good governance and development.

Advani, who accused the Congress of trying to destabilise governments, asked the CMs to focus on three areas to make ‘big’ difference to the people —education, health and curbing poverty at all levels.

Alluding to Anna Hazre’s movement against corruption, the meet vowed to back efforts by all such efforts.

“Good governance is the key component of national polity but under the UPA, it has become a casualty,” said a resolution adopted at the conclave.

As a step to corner the Congress-led UPA, BJP CMs resolved to set up an ‘in-house’ mechanism for reviewing their performance and take steps to improve delivery mechanism.

A highlight of the conclave was Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa who came with a booklet to convince the party that none of controversial mining leases that came under the SC scanner was done by him.
