Keep your cheque: Sharma’s father tells Amar Singh

Sharma said he was saddened by the comment made by Singh that “he (Inspector Sharma) had been shifted out of Special Cell before the encounter on September 19.”

“He is talking rubbish. Why should we accept his cheque?” Inspector Sharma’s father said, when asked about Amar Singh’s claim.

The Samajwadi Party leader even went to the extent of suspecting that policemen themselves could have killed the Inspector Sharma.

Singh, who had offered a cheque to Sharma’s family, had also visited Jamia Nagar and demanded a judicial probe into the encounter.

“My son was not transferred from Special Cell. Who told him (Amar Singh)? How could a responsible leader like him say such things?” an anguished Sharma said.

Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat also said Inspector Sharma was not transferred from the Special Cell, the anti-terror wing of Delhi Police.

Meanwhile, a group of people protested outside Amar Singh’s residence in Lodhi Colony. They shouted slogans against Singh for his comments regarding Inspector Sharma.
