Reacting to reports in the media that Jitendra Yadav had been thrown out of job in the wake of the incident, Kejriwal wrote a letter to the employer of the youth asking him not to take any such action as he himself does not have any ill-will against him.

Appealing to his employer to change the company's decision, he said, "We should not have any ill-will against him. We should pardon him. He did this (throwing slipper) because he may have been under the influence of some corrupt political forces.

"The dismissal of Yadav is not the solution of the problem. Doing so is violence against his family. Violence is not the reply for violence. Such an act will increase ill-will in his mind," he said.

Yadav threw a slipper at Kejriwal on October 18 when the social activist was proceeding for an event in Lucknow as part of Team Anna's anti-corruption campaign.
