Left to campaign against N-deal

Communist leader Prakash Karat announced a national campaign to explain people the Left's opposition to the India-US civil nuclear deal.

Communist leader Prakash Karat on Friday announced a national campaign from July 14 to explain to the people the Left's opposition to the India-US civil nuclear deal.

The campaign would also explain the Left's stance on the government's failure to tackle runaway inflation, Karat told reporters after a meeting of the Left parties.

Karat's Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and three other parties discussed the nuclear deal and the political situation.
