“The maximum and minimum temperature on Monday is expected to be around 32 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius,” the Met office said.

Sunday brought in showers in the morning, a bright sun during the day and a pleasant cool evening lashed by thundershowers. The eastern parts of the city received comparatively less rainfall then the southwestern parts where Palam and Najafgarh areas received the highest 3mm rainfall.

Overall, the rainfall measured 2.8 mm from 8.30pm on Saturday to 5.30am on Sunday while that recorded during

24 hours ending at 8.30pm Sunday was 1.5 mm. The rainfall recorded during the day, nine hours ending at 5.30pm, was 1.3 mm. The humidity ranged between 84-32%.

“Western disturbances over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas of Pakistan, clubbed with upper air cyclonic circulation over central Rajasthan and neighbourhood brought rains to Delhi,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) explained.

Although, rainshowers brought down the temperature and made for a pleasant evening, Sunday recorded a maximum temperature of 36.4 degree Celsius (average) while the minimum was 22.6 degree Celsius (one degree above average), the Met official added.

The maximum and minimum temperatures on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are likely to be around 34 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius.
