After strangling the victim with a refrigerator cord, the killers ransacked his flat and decamped with Rs 1.5 lakh in cash and other valuables, sources said.
The victim, Ashok Kumar, was a native of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. Kumar lived with his cousin, Vinod, and ran a milk business, said a senior police officer.
A case of murder has been registered at the Hari Nagar police station.
Police are looking for two suspects who had visited the victim’s house when he was alone in the afternoon.
A CCTV camera installed at the entry-exit point of the colony captured pictures of the suspects. “The footage was shown to the victim’s relatives who identified one of the suspects as Vipin, a friend of the victim. The matter appears to be a case of personal enmity,” said the officer.
