"The man jumped in front of the metro train around 8.15 am. He is yet to be identified," Anuj Dayal, spokesperson for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), told IANS.

The train operator applied emergency brakes on spotting the man but the train ran him over and he died on the spot.

"It took us some time to remove the body from the tracks so services were disrupted on the Central Secretariat-Jehangirpuri route for about 20 minutes," Dayal added.
