Maoists have threatened to eliminate the Leader of Opposition LK Advani “whenever a chance is available” in the wake of continuing violence against Christians in Orissa.

Security agencies have taken a serious note of the threat issued by Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda alias Sunil, secretary of the state organising committee of CPI (Maoist).
The senior BJP leader is one of the most-protected persons in the country and his security apparatus is likely to be alerted about the latest threat.
The threat, intelligence sources said, needs to be taken seriously especially in view of forthcoming elections in various states where Advani is likely to address public meetings.
Panda, who met a group of journalists at an undisclosed place in Orissa, is reported to have said that Maoist were in search of an opportunity to eliminate Advani and Vishwa Hindu Parishad's Ashok Singal and Pravin Togadia “as they are instigating communal passion in the country”.
The Maoist leader, decleared most-wanted by the Orissa Police, said the three were "natural targets" as they are instigating communal passion.
This is not the first time that Advani has received such a threat. There have been intelligence inputs about threat to his life from militant outfits and the underworld. Panda, however, denied that Orissa CM Naveen Patnaik was on their hit list.
