With the fight against terror one of their main poll plank, the BJP is keen to rope in Maya Sharma, wife of decorated Delhi Police officer Mahesh Chand Sharma, who was killed in the Batla House encounter on September 19, to contest from the New Delhi assembly seat against Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit. Narottan Sharma, father of the slain inspector, however, said, “So far no political party has approached us. And we have also not given any thought to this issue.”
