MCD has decided to ask the traffic police to aid in the installation as the latter is more experienced in the field.
In December, special commissioner (traffic) Bhimsen Bassi had written to the MCD to install surveillance equipment in all parking lots.
Sources in MCD say the corporation may engage private companies for the job. “To work out a better financial model, we can invite bids for free installation. In return, the firm will be given an advertisement unipole and electronic panels,” said an official of MCD’s RP Cell.
