The veteran singer, who has been struggling with lung infection for some time, was discharged from the Karachi's Aga Khan University hospital recently and is better now.

"He will visit India during the first or the second week of March for treatment. Hassan saheb's wish to visit India is finally going to be fulfilled after five years. He wants to meet Lataji, Dilip Saab and Amitabhji during his India stay," Hassan's son Asif told PTI from Karachi.

"Many artistes including Sonu Nigam have told us that if they can't come to Pakistan we should bring Hassan saheb to India," he added.

The 82-year-old, famously known as Shahenshah-e-Ghazal (king of ghazals), was offered help by many Indian singers when they came to know about his strained financial condition during his illness last year.

"Pakistan government is helping us in his treatment. Many Indian artistes have also come forward to help us. Let's us see what happens," Asif said.
