From now on, it will only get hotter, with the weatherman predicting the maximum temperature to tough 42 degrees on Tuesday. On Saturday, the mercury touched 41.1 degrees, the season’s highest so far. The minimum on Sunday was recorded at 26.4 degrees, two degrees above normal. The humidity was between 24 and 55%.

The temperature will oscillate between 26 and 42 degrees Celsius on Monday. “The days and nights are very hot. There is no sign of rain either,” said Rohan Khanna, a DU student.

However, there was some rainfall in the hills. Most tourist towns in Himachal Pradesh, including Shimla, Dharamshala and Dalhousie, saw moderate rainfall in the evening.

This, however, will bring no respite to Delhi. “There will be no rainfall, at least not for the next three days. Heat will only rise,” said the weatherman.
