Minor fire at finance ministry, no injuries
A minor fire broke out at the union finance ministry in North Block today, police said. The fire broke out on the first floor, in room number 138, next to the office of minister of state SS Palanimanickam.

A minor fire broke out at the union finance ministry in North Block on Friday, police said. The fire broke out on the first floor, in room number 138, next to the office of minister of state SS Palanimanickam.
"The fire department received the call at about 4:30pm and five fire tenders were rushed to the spot. They took about half-an-hour to douse the fire completely," said an officer.
The reason for the fire seemed to be an electrical short circuit in an air-conditioner, the officer added.
No one was injured in the incident.
