Political Career: Singh has politics in his blood. His father Bhagat Singh had also contested two municipal elections in the 60s and 70s. Singh started his political career during his college days in 1985. He contested his first assembly election in 1998 and was re-elected in 2003. Singh was made parliament secretary to the chief minister in the third assembly.

Family: Wife Kavita is a homemaker. They have two daughters and a son. “I keep so busy in my social and political life that I don’t get time for my family. But I want them to get good education. My two daughters are already studying at boarding school and might send my son to the boarding school soon,” said Singh.

Cars: He drives a Honda City and his wife travels in a Maruti WagonR. He mostly travels in his official Ambassador.
