In a shocking incident, a nine-year-old girl has approached the Delhi Police, alleging that she was being raped by her father and his friend for the past few months.

The incident came to light after the victim told her mother about the matter. The duo then approached a local NGO and informed the police about it.

According to the police, the arrested persons have been identified as Salim, the father of the victim, and his friend Akash, 20. The accused live in the Metro Vihar resettlement colony in outer Delhi and work as labourers.

The girl told the police that she was first raped by her father around three months ago when she was alone at her house. According to her, the duo used to drug her and then rape her after taking her to a vacant plot in the neighbourhood.

"She told us that she has been sexually assaulted by the accused several times. Initially, she tried to inform her mother but could not muster courage as the accused threatened her with dire consequences. The accused have been arrested and booked under the appropriate sections of IPC," added the officer.
