Puri would now be produced in the court on January 14. Meanwhile, the police are preparing to seek further remand in another case filed against Citibank officials, including Puri.

Arrested on December 30 after he surrendered before a city court, Puri had been in police remand since then.

Public prosecutor Vikash Sharma on Wednesday sought police remand of seven more days. He argued that the police have not completed the probe which is unique and complex. Sharma said that Puri’s presence was required for the recovery of the assets which he amassed through scam money, the iPad and other crucial documents.
