PM asks home ministry for a detailed report on the blast

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has asked the home ministry for a detailed report on the blast in Varanasi, a PMO spokesperson said.

Singh on Tuesday expressed concern over the blast in Varanasi in which several people were injured and appealed to all to maintain calm and peace.

The Prime Minister also appealed to the people to maintain calm and peace, he said.

A low-intensity blast rocked the holy town of Varanasi this evening leaving 20-25 including some foreign tourists injured.
