Prez race: SP to back UPA
The Samajwadi Party has indicated its support for a UPA candidate for the President's post provided he is a political person, not a bureaucrat.

The Samajwadi Party has indicated its support for a UPA candidate for the President's post provided he is a political person, not a bureaucrat. “One condition -- he should not be a bureaucrat,” SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said when asked if the SP would back a Congress candidate. But he replied in the negative when asked if his party would join the UPA.
