“The purpose of the rally was to sensitise establishments in and around the New Delhi district,” said Utpal Kumar Sinha, assistant labour commissioner.
More than 50 destitute children, who are being looked after by an NGO Salaam Balak, took part in the rally that began at Gole Market and then moved from Saheed Bhagat Singh Marg to Braid Lane and ended at Bangla Road.
The programme was attended by the area sub-divisional magistrate, Ajay Arora, and Sinha among others.
"The rally was a great success as it helped make the local residents, market vendors, passersby and pedestrians aware of the noble cause of empowering children through education and a healthy life that is a human right," said Sinha.
