The said gang operated on the outskirts of NH-24 in Ghaziabad.
It had recently targeted Hafizpur, Pilkhuwa and Dhaulana areas within a week’s time, police said.
“The said gang was wanted in many cases of gang-rape and robberies and were also identified to be involved in incidents of rape and robberies in 2008,” said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raghuveer Lal.
A large number of victims identified the criminals at a press conference held in Ghaziabad on Sunday.
“The robbers conducted recce of targets during the day and targeted them, posing as policemen at night. Their operations are heinous and they would be interrogated to find out more instances,” said SP (Rural) Capt M.M. Baig.
