Delhi Metro commuters travelling on the Blue Line had a harrowing time on Monday afternoon. Hundreds of commuters remained stranded for about half an hour due to bunching of trains on the line following a technical snag in the system between Yamuna Bank and Vaishali.

According to a spokesperson of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), it was a minor snag and was rectified within a few minutes but led to bunching of trains on the track.

“The snag was detected around 1.45pm. As the fault occurred during lean hours, its impact was not much,” the spokesperson said.

“I waited at the Laxmi Nagar station for over 20 minutes to catch a train. Finally, I boarded an overcrowded one, but it moved at a very slow pace,” Shalini Raut, a commuter, said.

Trains on the Blueline ran at a slow pace even during morning hours. Ranu Banerjee, another commuter, said that it took 30 minutes for her to reach Mandi House station from Nirman Vihar.
