Those who met Gandhi inclued AICC general secretary for the state Ghulam Nabi Azad, PCC chief R V Deshpandey and CLP leader Siddhaaramaiah.

The meeting came on a day when Karnataka assembly was adjourned sine die, cutting short the session by nearly a fortnight with the Opposition continuing its indefinite dharna demanding a CBI probe into alleged illegal mining in the state.

Gandhi met the Karnataka leaders as a part of the review exercise of the organizational elections in all the states.

The Congress President has so far reviewed the progress in the memebership drive, organizational elections and the state unit's preparations for programmes to celebrate the completion of 125 years of Congress.
