Subhash Joshi takes over as new BSF chief
Senior IPS officer Subhash Joshi today took over as Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF).
Senior IPS officer Subhash Joshi today took over as Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF).

Joshi, a 1976 batch officer of Uttarakhand cadre, has earlier served as Director General of elite commando force National Security Guard.
The 1.8 lakh personnel strong BSF guards country's frontier with Pakistan and Bangladesh, besides carrying out internal security-related jobs.
Joshi has also served as Special Director General in CRPF, DGP in Uttarakhand and Deputy Director in National Police Academy, Hyderabad among other important assignments.
He has been decorated with Police Medal for Meritorious Service and President Police Medal for distinguished service in 1994 and 2000, respectively.
Meanwhile, senior IPS officer Ajay Chadha has taken over as Director General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police force.
Chadha, a 1977 batch officer of AGMUT cadre, was previously working as Special Secretary (Internal Security) in the Union Home Ministry. He will have a tenure till August next year. The post had fallen vacant after Ranjit Sinha was appointed as Director of CBI.
