A North Campus student makes a visit to this college — not to study, but hangout in the canteen or the tea shop, or just socialise with students of other colleges. From sipping masala chai at JP tea stall to just sitting under the tree, this is one place that is a must visit. Here’s a look at the places that makes D School such a favourite with students.

JP Tea Stall
This small tea stall, known for its piping hot tea, desi lemon ice tea and masala Coke, also has a Facebook fan page dedicated to it. It is the perfect place for gossip and conversation sessions.

Even though smoking cigarettes is banned in DU, JP has been labelled as the top ‘smoking adda’ in Delhi University in a survey by the World Lung Foundation.

“I was studying in Law Faculty and it was one place where law was discussed over cups of masala chai,” says Shilpa Dalmia. “Great relationships happened at that big tree just behind JP,” says Priya Kumar, a MA student at Faculty of Art.

DSE Canteen
Foodies swear by this canteen. Early morning breakfast for many means deep fried mutton cutlets or mutton burgers that are sold here.

“The first thing I would do after getting off the CR park U Special was to run to DSE canteen, order for two mutton cutlets and eat them and then run for my classes to Miranda House,” says Sneha Kapoor, a DU alumna. “I have hardly ever missed the various dosas sold here,” says Angelina Bansal, another DU alumna.
