“These are just tall claims by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit that the three new municipal corporations are in the interest of Delhi and will be able to bring civic amenities at the doorstep of the people,” Mamgain said.

He said that after the completion of one year, all three corporations had failed in sanitation management, maintenance of parks, and failed to control dengue meningitis. Rampant illegal constructions have been carried out and there has been corruption at large, he added.

“Development projects have been delayed and old-age pensions are still pending. Three sets of mayor, standing committee and ad hoc committees are ineffective and the civic system has broken down,” Mamgain said.
