According to the police, the victims identified as Surender, 40, and Balwant, 42, were shot dead on late Thursday in Ram Nagar in Mansarover Park area.

Police said the duo who had their own copper factories in Ghaziabad, were returning in Surender's car when four assailants stopped them and opened fire. The assailants later escaped.

Surinder received one bullet in the back, while Balwant was hit in the head and the chest. The duo was rushed to the nearby Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital but both succumbed to their injuries.

While Surinder is survived by his wife and five children, Balwant left behind his wife and three children.

Police recovered some cash from the car but ruled out robbery as the motive behind the killings.

"It could be a result of personal enmity. We have sent out teams and have some positive leads, but no arrest has been made as yet," a senior police official said.
