UK firm to look into New bridge

The English company that provided suspenders, tie-bars and connectors for a pedestrian bridge near Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which collapsed in September, will oversee the construction of another bridge.

The English company that provided suspenders, tie-bars and connectors for a pedestrian bridge near Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, which collapsed in September, will oversee the construction of another bridge.

According to senior public works department officials, a team from Macalloy Bar & Cable Systems will help the construction company to assemble the bridge. The construction of another bridge was put on hold when the one closer to the stadium collapsed.

“We will hire a third-party expert to vet the designs of these bridges: and if they are cleared, we’ll call Macalloy officials to supervise construction,” a PWD official said on condition of anonymity.
