With less than 48 hours to go before the meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India that may end in his ouster, the IPL’s embattled chairperson Lalit Modi showed no signs of surrender or compromise. “People pressurising me to resign — I can tell you will not happen. “Wait for the IPL to finish” he wrote. “I will reveal the men who have tried to bring disrepute to the game and how we stopped them from doing it.”

The IPL ends today, and the BCCI governing council meeting is on Monday. BCCI chief Shashank Manohar spent Saturday closeted with secretary N Srinivasan, IPL vice-chairman Niranjan Shah and chief administrative officer Ratnakar Shetty. A source said they have been scanning “all the deals that have been signed by Modi since IPL’s inception”. All the sponsorship agreements are also being examined carefully to check for ‘missing links’ and conflicts of interest.
