The Jammu and Kashmir Police has issued two notifications regarding recruitment of constables on its official website jkpolice.gov.in.

One of the notification is about the recruitment of permanent female residents of the J-K state in two women battalions (one in Jammu region and the other in Kashmir region) and the other is for recruitment to the post of Constables in two border battalions one each in Jammu province and Kashmir Province from 10 border districts of Jammu and Kashmir equally.

For the two women battalions, there are 1350 vacancies distributed as per MHA guidelines. (Check notification).

For the border battalions also there are 1350 vacancies (675 for the districts of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch and 675 for Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora, Leh and Kargil). (Check notification)

The link for submission of application will be notified separately on the Jammu and Kashmir Police official website. The last date to apply for the exam will be 30 days after the activation of the link.

The instructions for filling up the form are available on the Jammu and Kashmir Police website.

Candidates applying for the exam must have a matriculation degree from a government recognised board before the last day of submission of application. Read the notification carefully before applying to see the other eligibility conditions and much more.

Eligible candidates will have to go through Physical Endurance test followed by Physical Standard Test. Successful candidates from the above two stages will be called for a written test which will have 100 objective type questions to be attempted in 2 hours time. The questions will be of matriculation level and will have questions from general awareness/general knowledge, elementary mathematics, analytical aptitude and ability.

The fees for applying for the exam is 300.
