As Bhagwant Mann is set to be the new Punjab chief minister, a large number of AAP volunteers, Sangrur deputy commissioner Ramvir along with Senior Superintendent of Police Swapan Sharma reached Mann's Sangrur residence on Thursday. The Aam Aadmi Party CM face's residence was decorated and his security was increased.

Mann, his sister Manpreet Kaur and AAP Punjab in-charge Jarnail Singh are at his residence. Mann will shortly address from the stage set outside his house. Earlier, in the morning Mann visited Mantuana Sahib Gurdwara and prayed for success.

Viewing the current status of COVID-19 in these poll going states, the Election Commission has decided to relax the guidelines on victory processions during and after the counting and has withdrawn the blanket ban on victory processions. However, this relaxation will be subject to existing instructions of SDMA and preventive measures, imposed by concerned district authorities, EC said.

Bains brothers of Ludhiana losing badly as per trends. Both Simarjeet Bains and Balwinder Bains have not secured even 5,000 votes till now. While Balwinder Bains from Ludhiana South has got only 2,717 votes after the sixth round counting, his brother Simarjeet Bains from Atam Nagar has only got 4,672 votes so far.

AAP leader Raghav Chadha said that the results were an indication that the people of the state had accepted the duo of Kejriwal-Bhagwant Mann. "In future, Arvind Kejriwal will be the principal challenger of BJP and AAP will be Congress' national and natural replacement."

"We're 'aam aadmi' but when 'Aam Aadmi' rises the mightiest of thrones shake. Today's an important day in India's history, not only because AAP is winning one more state but because it has become a national force," he added.

After 5th round of counting, AAP takes lead from the Congress in Abohar.
