Punjab Election Result 2022 highlights: What worked in favour of AAP?
Punjab Election Results 2022 LIVE updates: Bhagwant Mann's first priority will be employment for the youth, the CM to-be said on Thursday as AAP gets a huge mandate in the state.
Punjab Election Results 2022 LIVE updates: The Aam Aadmi Party is all set to gain control over Punjab in their first big win outside Delhi. In a massive gain from their 2017 result, AAP is leading in more than half the seats of the state assembly pushing Congress to a distant second in the state, according to the leads.

For months ahead of the polls, Congress battled anti-incumbency and internal strife with Congress state chief and the chief minister not being on the same page. What started between Navjot Sidhu and Amarinder Singh continued between Sidhu and Charanjit Singh Channi as well, after Channi replaced Amarinder Singh. However, Congress put up a united face after Channi was declared the CM candidate. The Shiromani Akali Dal contested the election with the Bahujan Samaj Party. BJP tied up with Amarinder Singh's Punjab Lok Congress and SAD (Sanyukt) led by SS Dhindsa.

What worked for AAP in Punjab
The party encashed on people’s disillusionment with traditional outfits, sought a chance to bring about a change as AAP accused its rivals of looting the state.
The party’s slogan "ik mauka Bhagwant Mann te Kejriwal nu" (one chance to Bhagwant Mann and Kejriwal) seems to have clicked among voters.
The party sought to replicate the Delhi model of governance in Punjab by improving the condition of schools and health facilities.
AAP also promised freebies like ₹1,000 per month for women, free power up to 300 units and round the clock electricity to woo voters.
The announcement of Bhagwant Mann as the CM face before the polls also worked to its advantage. (PTI)
